A Mon Seul Desir

This, the sixth tapestry in the Lady and the Unicorn series, displays the words "À Mon Seul Désir" (meaning: "to my only desire"), whose meaning is obscure, but has been interpreted as representing love or understanding.

Five of the other tapestries in the series are commonly interpreted as depicting the five senses - Taste, Hearing, Sight, Smell, and Touch. Strangely, it is not clear who made these exquisite tapestries, or where - perhaps in Tournai or in the Loire Valley.
